I would agree than not every youtube downloading website is safe for PC. Like keepvid uses the technology which allows to make changes to your computer and launch any scripts they want. So it’s can allow viruses to appear in the system.
I usually use free trusted software as youtube downloader. There are some in the web. But still you need to be attentive as they ask you to install some toolbars. Usually it’s safe and trusted one – like google or bing search toolbars. You just need to uncheck this option during installation.
By the way, the youtube downloader I’m using is http://anytubedownloader.com/ – it’s very simple and clean.
